When you’re gone (cover) The Cranberries, Tribute to Dolores O’Riodan & lost Gen X musicians.

I met Dolores O’Riodan and her band The Cranberries back stage at Woodstock 94’. She had blonde hair and was ready to have fun. We were all distracted by Shannon Hoon (Blind Mellon’s singer) who had crawled under a table in his white tunic and barrettes. Dolores spoke with a beautiful accent (Limerick Ireland) They had an amazing set and it would be two more years before I would see her again. By now they were a huge band and they were shooting a video for “When you’re gone“ in Battery Park New York, at the very lower tip of Manhattan. It was extremely cold, it may have been -20 degrees with the wind chill. Tony Scott the cinematographer was having trouble with the techno-crane and the sun was going down fast. They shot as much as they could of the video but it seemed they needed more footage (They added a whole lot more later, (check out the directors cut). Dolores was a real trooper and stood in the cold for hours. I always loved this song and will cherish the time I spent with her
