Creating OUR CLASS, Poland July 2023

MART Foundation & Arlekin Players Creating OUR CLASS A behind the scenes exploration, Poland, 2023 Ukrainian-born Jewish director Igor Golyak, Polish playwright Tadeusz Słobodzianek, German scenic designer Jan Pappelbaum and artistic advisor Ulrike Gutbrod, and American producer Sara Stackhouse travel to Poland to work on the award-winning play OUR CLASS about 10 classmates (five Jewish, five Catholic Poles) who grow up as neighbors, then turn on each other with life and death consequences. Based on actual events surrounding the horrific pogrom in Jedwabne in 1941. An electric, new and contemporary production of OUR CLASS, directed by Golyak, will be presented Off-Broadway for its New York premiere at BAM January-February 2024.
