China’s UN Ambassador Dai Bing told the UN Security Council that a suspected Israeli attack on Iran’s consulate in Syria was of an “extremely vicious nature”. He called the April 1 attack a grave violation of international law and a breach of the sovereignty of both countries. Dai Bing also expressed “deep concern” over Iran’s attack on Israel and called for “maximum calm and restraint” from all parties.
