Liz Truss resigns after 44 days in office

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned after 44 days in the role, making her the shortest serving Prime Minister in UK history. She said ‘I can not deliver the mandates on which I was elected by the Conservative Party.’ The frontrunners to take the job are former chancellor, Rishi Sunak as well as former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
