Setting Booby Traps (1943)

Unused / unissued material - date and locations unclear or unknown. Could be shot in Burma. Various shots of soldiers (could be Nepalese fighting for Britain or Gurkhas?) clearing undergrowth and setting up booby traps in the jungle. A trap is demonstrated so we see a sharp spear sticking out of it when moved. Another demonstration shows a dummy being speared by the trap. We see a pit with several sharp spears in it. Also a hand grenade wired to detonate when someone walks past. Soldiers throw spears at dummies. A dummy is used to demonstrate a trap that catches his ankle and strings him up in the air. Close shot of bobby trap wires being set up and demonstrated. Footage probably shot by Pathe cameraman Oscar Bovill. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
