Radioactive Dinosaur Bones

This is a quick demonstration of how some dinosaur and other fossils are radioactive. This video was inspired by the Blog Post for Mary Anning’s Revenge Worth checking out! Anything with higher then 100 Counts Per Minute (CPM) is considered radioactive, and you should limit your exposure. Note these dinosaur bones measured around 200 CPM, which is equivalent to the exposure of around 5 times that of a medical x-ray. Or about 1milliSv. Be safe, always wear air masks when working with fossils and the dust they produce. Keep your labs clean and work space free of dust.
