US President Donald Trump has struck a positive note in his first meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Relations between the two countries have been strained for many years, and the two leaders have traded barbs on Twitter in the past. But the new, friendlier tone could contribute to ending US military involvement in Afghanistan. Trump hopes Khan can help “extricate“ the US from its almost two decades long war in Pakistan’s neighbor.
