The Armenian Genocide april 24 1915 the day of commemoration. Around WW1 the crumbing Ottoman Empire inflicted unprecedented atrocities against their Armenian population by the use of deliberate and systematic massacres and a series of deportations into the Syrian desert. These events have come to be known as the first Genocide of the 20th century.
