Elon Musk Just LAUNCHED Quantum Drive Engine Into Space! The Quantum Drive, a controversial new sort of electric propulsion system that physicists argue defies Newton’s Laws of Motion, has been launched by a SpaceX rocket. The intriguing but controversial Quantum Drive, designed by IVO Ltd., an electronics prototyping business, could transform the future of space travel and, if proven to operate, could rewrite or expand many of the accepted concepts of inertia and motion that have existed for millennia. With their technology, which draws “limitless power for propulsion from the Sun,“ IVO asserts that it is the first pure electric propulsion system in the world to be used commercially. In conventional space flight, thrust is produced by rockets spewing large amounts of ignited propellants. This dynamic is controlled by the rocket equation, a tool used by engineers and mission planners to precisely calculate the amount of fuel required to enter and stay in orbit or, in the case of the most ambitious missions, to break free from Earth’s gravitational pull and go far into the solar system. Impressive advancements such as solar sails and ion thrusters have been made in recent decades as a result of efforts to do away with the arduous rocket equation. The principles of motion, which Sir Isaac Newton initially established in the late 17th century, nevertheless apply to every technique that people use to propel vehicles through space. The most important explanation of this is provided by Newton’s third law of motion, which states that there is an equal and opposite reaction to every action. Thus, a rocket, satellite, or other spacecraft needs to be propelled forward by ejecting something backward in order to go through space. In more recent times, new hypotheses about moving through space vacuum have started to emerge as our knowledge of physics has grown and as new techniques and equipment, including as incredibly powerful computers, have enabled scientists to search for and test theories that seemed inconceivable. One such notion is Quantized Inertia (QI), which was put forth by University of Plymouth professor of physics Mike McCulloch. The statement “Objects move in straight lines at constant speed unless pushed on“ is how Newton’s First Law of inertia is defined, according to McCulloch’s website. McCulloch goes on to say that while Newton provides a concise definition of inertia, the 17th-century genius never goes into great detail to clarify what inertia actually is.
