Amid the bustling Interstate 94 of south central Michigan, lies Lakeview Square Mall. Built in the 80s as the mall for the city of Battle Creek, this mall just feels 80s in every way. Whether it’s the old tenant or anchor facades, the HUGE blue skylights, or the many trees and planters that go up and down with you as you explore the many elevations. Whatever you like about this mall, what you can’t deny is the fact of just how EMPTY it is. It was just me and the few lone souls of mall walkers that morning in July. And for an early morning visit to start my day off, I’m the pure silence of no radio. It was relaxing as all hell. So what’s the story of the jewel on the interstate?
