The PAINFUL HIDDEN STORY of CHAKA KHAN – CHILDHOOD TRAUMA | TORTURED SOUL_What They Didn’t Tell You!

Chaka Khan was born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1953 into an artistic, bohemian household in Chicago, Illinois. The eldest of five children born to Charles Stevens and Sandra Coleman, she has described her father as a beatnik. Beatniks were members of a social movement in the 1950s and early 1960s who subscribed to an anti-materialistic lifestyle. They rejected the conformity and consumerism of mainstream American culture and expressed themselves through various forms of art, such as literature, poetry, music, and painting. She was raised in the Hyde Park area, an island in Chicago’s rough South Side housing projects. #chakakhan #takaboom #prince #soul #hiddentruth #funk
