We are receiving2 1 Peter 1:9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls... As we examine the book of 1st Peter we see the Apostle Peter again encouraging the Saints and reminding them of what God has in store for us. Persecution of God’s people was increasing and some were being tempted to go back to their old way of life in order to avoid persecution but the Apostle Peter reminded the Saints then as well as the spirit is reminding us today that God has the result of our faith which is the Salvation of our souls... Peter likely wrote in AD 64, just as the persecution of Christians under Nero was ramping up. The letter is addressed to Christians scattered in “Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia” (1:1). This is an area north of the Taurus Mountains in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey).
