I picked this game up from the Racial Justice bundle from .
Do you like quiet minimalist world building games where you can make scenery that wouldn’t be out of place in a Dark Souls map? If so, you should check out Quiet as a Stone. This game is very pretty, and I have... no idea what it’s trying to achieve.
There is a narrative to this game, but it fed it to me so slowly that I couldn’t really retain it, which is a shame. This world is dripping with history in the various items you uncover/unlock, but if there’s a payoff for being patient, I didn’t see it. The game slowly spits out singular lines of dialogue from the camp fire on the map, but given the text doesn’t scale, if you’re off doing something else, you’ll just miss it.
The camera mode is really solid, and you can make some very, very pretty, if reflective scenes. All kinds of filters, camera adjustments, and crops will really let you get creative.
It was an interesting experience, but this wasn’t for me.
