Huge fireball as Russian military plane crashes in Belgorod

A Russian Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane has crashed near the Ukrainian border. Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube ► The Russian state news agency RIA quoted the defence ministry as saying the plane was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war to be exchanged in a swap, alongside six crew and three other people when it crashed. The Guardian could not immediately verify details of who was onboard and the cause of the crash was not yet known. Ukraine has not commented on the incident.
