Cruise ship worker smuggles £2m of cocaine across ship docked in Isle of Wight
Newly-released footage reveals how a cruise ship worker smuggled £2 million worth of cocaine to UK waters.
Milos Bigovic, from Serbia, hid 28kg of the drug on the Marella Discovery 2 in Cartegena, Colombia, before its journey to the Caribbean was abandoned in March 2020 in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Passengers disembarked and the ship moored off the Isle of Wight.
In April that year, Bigovic dragged the bag of drugs to a port-side deck and attached a rope to it, lowering it to accomplices, Benn Bath, 36, and Joshua Paige, 31, in a boat below.
Bigovic, Bath, and Paige admitted importing cocaine and were jailed for 11, 18, and eight years respectively.
