BC’s “Move Over and Slow Down“ Law

Many drivers do not know, or forget, that they must move over and slow down when apporaching an “official vehicle“ on the roadside in BC, it’s the law. Further, “official vehicles“ include not only police, fire and paramedics (red or blue lights), but also any vehicle displaying a flashing yellow light, such as a municipal vehicle, utility vehicle or a tow truck or garbage truck. Hefty fines and penalty points follow people who don’t follow the law.
