Winter Railway Aka Clearing Railway Scenes (1963)

Short film about railwaymen clearing snow from the points on the Kent railway line. M/S of two men clearing the track, one uses a shovel while the other brushes the snow away with a brush. We see some great shots taken from the carriage of a train at night. We can see sparks shooting out from the wheels and reflecting off the snow. Good angled shot from the side of the track the train passes by at speed, more sparks fly. Note: good footage illustrating Britain in the middle of the freezing winter of 1963; see also other stories in this issue - SL. Cuts exist - see separate records.
