This video shows intense Strombolian activity from a new vent at about 3100 m elevation, on the eastern flank of Etna’s Northeast Crater, on the morning of 29 July 2014. Our observation post was on the east rim of the Northeast Crater, approximately 200 m higher, out of the range of falling volcanic bombs, and it afforded a rather fine view right into the vent.
