Bermuda battered! Hurricane Lee, huge waves and full force winds hit Bermuda

The Bermuda Weather Service in its latest update this evening says winds have steadily increased through today ahead of Hurricane Lee’s closest point of approach. The 6 pm advisory from the National Hurricane Center indicates that Lee will pass around 170 nm to Bermuda’s west at 10 pm. Lee is moving faster and is now a category 1 hurricane. This increased forward speed is hinting at a sooner departure from Bermuda’s area on Friday. Hurricane Lee unleashed strong winds and tropical storm conditions on Bermuda ahead of a track that will bring heavy rain, wind and coastal flooding to coastal New England and Atlantic Canada on Friday and through the weekend.
