’Autophagia’ came out on Clot’s debut LP, “Grief Tethers“ which dropped on July 21st, 2023 via Terminus Hate City Records (ATL) “ ’Autophagia’ is about losing sight of yourself amongst the chaos of the world, getting caught in monotonous/harmful patterns, and succumbing to it all. There is always something to hold on to, to keep yourself grounded, but it isn’t always enough to keep the flames at bay. I wanted this song, and many of the tracks on Grief Tethers, to tap into those burdensome feelings of overwhelming hopelessness. I feel having Jamie (Eubanks of Knoll) provide additional vocals toward the end of the track helped drive home the frantic hellscape we hoped to convey. The ending feels like an evil carnival ride.
