South Korea’s defence minister apologises to citizens and resigns - Yonhap The agency reports that the opposition Democratic Party “Toburo“ earlier initiated impeachment against the defence minister. It is noted that it was Kim Yong-hyun who proposed to impose martial law in the country. He has been in office for less than three months - since 6 September 2024. “I will be responsible for all situations related to martial law,“ the defence minister said as he resigned.
