Shostakovich’s Musical Portrait of Stalin

Mravinsky’s best recording of Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony was his first, recorded in 1954, shortly after the premiere. Unfortunately, the sound of that recording was pretty bad, due to the limitations of the audio technology available at the time. Fortunately, we can now do way better. Here is the famous second movement from that recording in much improved sound.
