Over the weekend, heavy rain poured down on southern China, triggering floods and forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
Since last week, Guangdong province, with a population of around 127 million people, has been experiencing continuous rainfall.
This past weekend, the rainfall intensified, hitting the northern parts of the province and the Pearl River Delta in the south.
Approximately 20,000 people were evacuated, with nine rivers at risk of overflowing.
In Guangzhou, nearly five inches of rain fell within four hours, marking the highest recorded rainfall in the province.
