In this video, I show you how to clean agates with citric acid! Getting rid of river scum and river burn on your stones has never been easier! To be honest, I was shocked out how much better my agates looked afterwards, this process will now be my exclusive means of cleaning my Lake Superior agates. Taking three days to clean river burned agates is a bit excessive, you could probably get away with a two days. Step by step: 1. Poor enough HOT water over the rocks 2. For every cup of water, add 1 tablespoon of citric acid. 3. Mix citric acid, water, and rocks around 4. Let sit for no more than 3 days. Every 24 hous, mix the batch around and rotate rocks. 5. After 3rd day, poor citric acid in a safe place and rinse off rocks. 6. Put back in HOT water with baking soda, mix together. (This helps neutralize the acid) 7.
