7th SON OF A SEVENTH SON Iron Maiden Bass Cover with Steve’s signature bass, technique & strings

Hey guys ! Here is “7th Son“ from the eponymous album brought out in 1988. It is in fact the last Iron Maiden album that I really enjoyed and for this special reason, I wanted to pay a particular tribute to Mr Steve HARRIS who regaled my ears and inspiration during seven albums. I so decided to re-mount his genuine 50-100 flatwound strings. (They were sold along with the bass but I carefully set them aside, and replaced them with my personal gauge : 45-105 ROUNDWOUND. All my other covers were recorded with my strings by the way, not his.) I gathered all the genuine Iron Maiden studio tracks from the album and remixed them together except for Steve’s track that I muted and replaced by mine. I did my best to stick to his line to the note. I then remastered the whole band with my own track. NOTE that the “Three Finger“ technique I use @ 7:27 and 9:09 are NOT Steve’s technique, as i state in my video “How to play like Steve Harris“ here : , he uses ONLY two fingers. I thought you would be interested in comparing both techniques.
