Speaker of this Webinar Series is Dr Ranjitha Tiwari,
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, southern state of India. Pursued her Bachelors in Veterinary Science from then Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University, Hyderabad. Masters In genetics and breeding from National Dairy Research Institute Karnal. Then moved ahead to United States of America to pursue her “integrated PhD”, where in her PhD research was on “Autophagy”. Moved back to homeland and started clinical practice entitled ‘Hope Animal Clinic’ in a small town in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Later pursued course in Cardiorespiratory Medicine under the Mentorship of Dr Neik Bejerink from College of Veterinary Education, Sydney University. Has attended multiple National and International symposia both human and veterinary ones, honing her knowledge in comparative Veterinary Cardiology. She also attends many Human Cardiology webinars (ECG & Structural heart diseases) and is a member of three Human Cardiology Societies.
In lieu of creating awareness towards the crucial discipline of Veterinary Cardiology among the fellow veterinarians, Dr Ranjitha has been managing two serious WhatsApp study groups teaching exclusive veterinary cardiology namely Vetcardians -1 & 2. During covid period, Vetcardians has achieved the honour of delivering 27 webinars exclusively in veterinary cardiology and that too by the Vetcardian members themselves.
She has been a invited speaker of Veterinary Cardiology at various state associations like Pune and Kerala, has delivered multiple online national and international webinars, and was the invited speaker at first ever ‘National Symposium in Canine Cardiology’. Dr Ranjitha has been invited to teach Echocardiography in Small Animals by Sri Lanka Veterinary Association thus becoming the first Indian Veterinarian to teach Veterinary Echocardiography to foreign vets.
Dr Ranjitha strongly believes in three concepts –
Firstly, “every patient is cardiac compromised to some extent, all it needs is to identify and stage it”.
Secondly, the development and establishment of veterinary Cardiology as a crucial discipline can only be achieved through mutual education and honest referral.
Thirdly, spreading awareness of cardiac health both among veterinarians and pet parents is a huge responsibility of every veterinarian, after all its about heart we are referring to!
