Rishi Sunak has announced he will step down as Tory leader following the general election defeat once formal arrangements for a successor have taken place. Speaking outside No 10, Mr Sunak addressed the nation saying “I am sorry”, adding: “I have heard your anger, your disappointment, and I take responsibility”.
