This week we start a new series called “DESIGN PRINCIPLES“, where we will be looking into important art principles when producing 2D/3D artwork such as using reference, shape language, colour theory, etc. In this first episode, Christina dives deep into the topic of using reference in relation to 2D/3D art, why reference is important, the pitfalls of relying too heavily (or not enough!) on reference, as well as explaining different sources of finding good reference.
This video is quite theoretical and dense, but in part 02 coming out next week, Omercan will provide practical demonstrations and examples on how to examine different sources of reference, and how to break them down and implement them into your own artwork.
