Free nations must stand up to tyranny, says King Charles
The King has spoken about the need for free nations to stand up against tyranny as he addressed a commemorative event in Normandy to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day landings.
The King said: “Again and again across the decades, free nations must stand together to oppose tyranny.”
Speaking at the UK memorial at Vers-sur-Mer in Normandy which commemorates the more than 22,000 service personnel in British units who gave their lives in the D-Day landings and the battle of Normandy, he said: “It is with the most profound sense of gratitude that we remember them and all those who served at that critical time.”
