M/S of two men in a foundry working with a container of red hot liquid metal. The metal is poured into moulds. L/S of some of the workers putting other pieces of metal into a mould. M/S of man standing by a control panel which has several dials. He presses a switch. Various shots of manufacturing process. Man moves control gauges. Molten steel is poured from a container. Intertitle remarks on the modern, time saving and clean new style furnace. Various shots of the men at work. “Stainless iron, too, is now being heated up for forging in furnaces fired by powdered of the Coal Industry’s answers to oil...“ A large lump of red hot iron is moved from a furnace by large chains. C/U of the iron being squeezed in a vice. “And they can cut the metal just like putty.“ Metal cutter is forced through the hot metal. “...Now, it’s thinner...(this beats dieting!)“ Two men feed the iron bar through a press, C/U of the bar being squashed.
