Pakistan: Massive crowds turn out to honour executed killer of Pakistani politician

Tens of thousands of people attended the funeral of Mumtaz Qadri in Rawalpindi, Tuesday, with crowds throwing rose petals at Qadri’s coffin and declaring him a ’martyr’ after he was executed for the killing of Pakistani politician and former Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer. Mumtaz Qadri, who was Salman Taseer’s bodyguard, was hung in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Monday morning after his appeal for mercy was rejected by Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain. Qadri shot Taseer, who is half English and half Pak
