Reveal text with a brush stroke | After Effects Tutorial

In this After Effects Tutorial, I’ll show you how to reveal text with a brush stroke and how to create and add a texture within After Effects. Download the project file here: First, we import a vectorised brush stroke from Illustrator and create a texture to add more detail to that plain shape. Therefore we use the standard effect “turbulent noise“ and play around with the settings a little bit. Next we add it to the main comp and use it as luma mask for the brush stroke. After animating the solid by using a mask of the stroke shape, we add some text and use the animated stroke again to reveal the text.
