Full title reads: “LIVERPOOL“. Liverpool, Merseyside. The Red Cross ship “Atlantis“ coming into Liverpool. When the ship nears we see the troops waving and smiling to those on quay. Women waving from quay. Troops singing from the ship. Various shots of the troops coming ashore, nurses wait to greet them. Some are led because they have lost their sight. Others are stretcher cases and slightly wounded, some who have lost limbs. Various shots of the men boarding train at Liverpool, nurses give them cakes and tea. Train pulling out and the men wave to people on platform. Several shots inside crowded train. One of the soldiers speaking about his capture and finishes by saying ’blimey this air smells good’.
