The Micro Ray (1934)

Full title reads “Lympne THE MICRO-RAY Another great step towards “safety in the air“ inaugurated by Sir Philip Sassoon.“ Lympne, Kent. Several shots of something that looks like receiver of micro rays on top of the building - looks like a satellite dish. Pan down building to show the two men looking up. Pan up again. Close up shot of a dish. Pilot seated in cockpit of a small plane. Plane in flight. A man seated at desk talking on the telephone. He is surrounded by people. Succession of shots of men with earphones on listening to something. Cut back to a man on the phone. Note: Since there is no voiceover this story seems to be rather confusing. A dish is presumably receiver which enables the government to place greater control to Britain’s air space. A man on the phone is most probably Sir Philip Sassoon who, according to the title, inaugurates the new invention. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
