The film looks at some of the towns along the former Gold Trail in Nevada and California. Bengal Pictures’ films were apparently made for the home market, and tried to visually tie into the “Western cowboy and Indian“ craze which was sweeping the country at the time. This explains how a film about ghost towns and the gold rush era contains a gunfight! In any case, this film begins with shots of Death Valley followed by scenes from Rhyolite in Nevada, and Columbia, Murphys, Mokelumne Hill, and Calico in California. The storyline is occasionally interjected with footage of gold prospectors who mostly shoot at each other, to highlight that these were violent times. 0:12 Bengal Pictures Presents “Gold Trails”, 0:40 Associate Producer Tom Steward, Narrator Perry King, 0:52 Producer Phil E.
