On the evening of July 21st, during the rush hour, the central urban area of Shanghai was unexpectedly hit by a torrential downpour and continuous thunderstorms. Many areas experienced severe flooding, turning streets into rivers, and making driving more like sailing. A viral video circulating on the internet shows that in the streets of Shanghai, a large number of vehicles were submerged in water, and the water level rose rapidly, reaching the height of car windows.
