Vintage 1940s Marx Lumar Construction Plow Shovel Truck Restoration

I just finished this latest project, something special, a vintage 1940’s Marx toy Lumar construction plow shovel truck. This truck is 17 inches long, pretty big! I found it on Ebay for a pretty good price. It needed work as usual but the shape is classic and the truck is exquisitely made and colorful. The Marx was founded by Louis Marx in 1919, at 1950’s the company was the largest toy manufacturer in the world and it was over one-third of all toys in the U.S. The Louis Marx was described as “The Toy King” and “The Henry Ford” of the toy industry. In 1972 Louis Marx sold his toy company. It took a lot of time for this restoration. The big problem occurred with the plow of the truck, when painting those parts with the powder paint. The color of the paint was a little different, it didn’t turn out glossy as expected, and for some reason there were black spots on the surface where the color was just lost!
