HANDEL vs SCARLATTI - Organ Harpsichord Battle - La Folia

In this thrilling sequel to their legendary 1709 encounter, Maestro Händel and Scarlatti reunite for another musical duel. Last time, Scarlatti left Händel in awe of his skills on the harpsichord. Now, they face off once more, each showcasing their virtuosity on both the organ and harpsichord. Watch as they push their skills to the limit, improvising on the iconic La Folia theme—aptly named “Madness.“ Who will claim victory in this impressive display of musical skill? Part I: This presentation is inspired by a scene from the film “God Rot Tunbridge Wells“. The music played is an arrangement of variations on La Folia by Arcangelo Corelli (Opus 5, nr 12) and Alessandro Scarlatti.
