Brahms / Krystian Zimerman, 1979: Ballade in D minor, Op. 10, No. 1

I recorded this audio from a cassette I purchased in the late 1970s, produced by Deutsche Grammophon, serial number 3301 052 (corresponding LP serial number, 2531 052). Zimerman was 22 years old at the time he recorded this work. Intermezzo. Allegro The Op. 10 Ballades were dated 1854 and dedicated to Brahms’ friend Julius Otto Grimm. Their composition coincided with the beginning of the composer’s lifelong affection for Clara Schumann. Ballade in D minor, Op. 10, No. 1: Andante
