Let’s take a sneak peak of what goes on in “A Cat’s Day” by 5yrs old Miya! Miya performed as a cat in the 5&U Demi Character Solo at Get the Beat Singapore competition coached by Ms Joan Wang and was awarded 1st Prize. Through Demi-character, Miya learnt to tell a story through her body movements and expressions, a very important aspect of dance apart from technical ability. She’s learnt how to stay in character and tell her story through her dance whilst at the same time showcasing her technical abilities. She’s won the hearts of many through her performance and we’ve seen her growth in confidence, technical strength and stage presence through her performances.
