On Monday afternoon, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the Chinese province of Sichuan. Tremors were also felt in the neighboring province of Shaanxi. The earthquake occurred at 14:47 local time. The epicenter was at a depth of 16 kilometers. Sichuan is a province in south-central China. The capital and largest city is Chengdu.
