Gramophone Awards 2023: Véronique Gens ’Artist of the Year’
Introducing Gramophone Magazine’s 2023 Artist of the Year: Véronique Gens!
From her first Alpha Classics recording, Néère, which won the 2016 Gramophone Award for Best Vocal Recording, it was clear that this recording partnership was going to be something very special. So far this year Véronique has realised a life-long ambition by releasing Poulenc’s La Voix humaine, received a second Gramophone Award, the Voice & Ensemble Award for her Rivales recording with Sandrine Piau, Le Concert de la Loge and Julien Chauvin, and recorded her next album, Paysage with Münchner Rundfunk conducted by Hervé Niquet, which will be released in 2024.
