Yo-Yo Ma and Kinan Azmeh - Jisreen, composed by K. Azmeh

Yo-Yo Ma is one of the world’s most renowned cellists who participated in and initiated many important projects such as the global cultural collective Silkroad, and more recently the Bach Project: a six-continent tour of J. S. Bach’s cello suites. Kinan Azmeh is a clarinetist, composer, improvisor from Syria based in New York. He has collaborated with some of the world’s leading ensembles such as the New York Philharmonic,and the Seattle Symphony . He also leads his own Arab-Jazz quartet the Kinan Azmeh CityBand. Jisreen is a little village in Al Ghouta, the greenbelt around Damascus, where Kinan Azmeh used to spend time as a child in his grandparents house.
