Track 3 from Waiennut (waeltaja II).
The story of Waeltaja continues from the very end of the journey.
The music was mostly recorded back in 2017, a year after recording the structures of Waeltaja album. Waiennut follows musically the same direction as Waeltaja, so it was quite easy to continue the story of the wanderer with this material.
S. Korpituli, inspired by the grief that fell upon him due to the loss of a close family member, wanted to write about the one final journey that we all take one day. A suitable theme for this second part of the wanderer’s saga.
In Finnish tradition certain things like catching a strange looking fish “Marraskala“ has been considered an ill-omen of approaching demise to either you or someone you know and that’s what our Waeltaja here is witnessing and thus it becomes clear to him - it is his time to go. Thus he leaves for a one final journey to find the end of his days.
During this long road he ponders what he achieved during his earthly stay, how the endless cycle of life will continue long after the memory of him has faded and what lies beyond the veil of death? No living holds the answer, to the unknown he must go.
And as the end closes, a certain serenity is achieved. As the body grows tired, the soul is ready to roam - to touch the stars. As his earthly flame fades the primordial one blazes as it embraces eternity once again.
He goes in silence, he goes in peace.
The album closes with a traditional finnish saying “peace to the living, rest for the dead“ which is often said when someone passes away, followed by an old poem/spell pondering “where and when will this all end for me?“.
Artwork was once again provided by Hellish Razor and is based on the lyrical themes, giving full support to the audial atmosphere.

Rantaan Rajattomuuden
Näin käyn ja viimein kohti matkan tekohon
vaellan yksin päin lauluni viimeistä määrää
Loppu joka niin kovin kaukana häämöttää
mutta silti vääjäämättä edessäin seisoo
Ja minne lähden kun perille saavun?
Täältä rajan taakse tuonpuoleen
kauas luota jälkeläisten
vaaran laelle, tunturin tuulelle
Yksinäisyyden ylpeydelle
Levon rauhalle mis ei kuolevaiset vaivaa
Sieltä virtaan vetten vietävänä
Ei ole paluuta tältä polulta kiviseltä
Kerran vielä halki metsän ja aavan
Käyn läpi tuulen ja tuiskun
matkalla päälle viimeisen vaaran
Mä matkalla oon
Waeltajat jatkavat kaipuun kulkuaan.
Tämä vanha löytää rauhan lopullisen levon
Ken todella elossa on?
Waeltajat jatkavat kaipuun kulkuaan
Tämä vanha löytää rauhan lopullisen levon
hiljaisuuden virran rannalta toiselta
tuon puolelta ja elo jatkuu kohti ikuisuutta
Käy rantaan rajattomuuden
Käy usvan maille, maahisille
To The Shore Of Infinity
Thus I roam and finally towards the making of the journey
I wander alone towards the final closure of my song
The end that looms so very afar
but still inevitably stands in front of me
And where do I leave as I arrive?
Hence beyond the border of hereafter
afar from the afterbears
atop of the fell, to the wind of the mountain
To the pride of desolation
Enter the calmness of slumber where the mortals bother no more
From there I’ll stream with the waters
There’s no coming back from this rocky path
Once again past the woods and the glades
I go through the wind and the gale
On my way atop of the final mountain
I am going.
The wanderers continue their paths of longing
This old one finds the peace of final rest
Whoever is truly alive?
The wanderers continue their paths of longing
This old one finds the peace of final rest
from the other shore of the stream of silence
in the hereafter and life continues towards eternity.
Enter the shore of infinity
Enter the otherworldly lands of mist
