It`s my first 45-minute film by west Papua and my adventure journey to Lorentz National Park and back, from the headwaters to the Ocean with Olympic flag. That is true that the Papuans have not lost their bright original traditions. The Papuans are close to their deep roots. However, the people who live in contemporary New Guinea are contemporary with the 21st century. I met Papuans with a violin and a football, with a pocket English dictionary, the Bible, the Koran. Travelling around New Guinea, I was not looking for any folklore or a costume performance for show. I travelled without a guide, outside tourist routes. During my stay in New Guinea I never used the services of hotels. This allowed me to touch the daily life of a distant island. Hence, the aim and prospective task connected with the aim are to collect and present data that would serve not only as the display of yesterday, but as an incentive for conservation, research, tourism activities of tomorrow.
