This 1991 classic established star Keanu Reeves (playing undercover agent Johnny Utah) as an action hero, and firmly cemented the late, great Patrick Swayze as perhaps the great zen action icon of his day, with him playing the mystical (but ultimately corrupt) surfing bank-robber Bodhi. Plus there’s Gary Busey, Lori Petty, and many more! Much imitated, but rarely equaled, Kathryn Bigelow film stands the test of time - and then some!
