From that date, a phase of guerrilla warfare began by around 7,000 Italians who refused to surrender. Furthermore, many indigenous people chose to actively collaborate with the Italian fighters. Cheren, vera porta dell’Eritrea, cade nel marzo 1941 ma la guerra non finisce lì.
