Organic Flour Milling - Doukhobor “Pride of the Valley“ - Grand Forks BC - YouTube

“Pride of the Valley“ is the trade name of the organic flour mill in Grand Forks British Columbia. The original mill (1915 -1945) at the site was operated by the then flourishing Christian Community of Universal Brotherhood, the largest example of communal living in North American history. The nutritional value of their food was of a very high standard. The diet consisted of natural legumes, oats, wheat, barley, rye, millet, flax, dry fruit, linseed oil,and other oils, such as poppy seed and hemp oil. At the mill site was also a tomato cannery. All produce was locally grown. The oil produced at the mill site was of very high quality and readily used in every day cooking. The last project at the mill site was a fruit dryer. All fruit was locally grown and was organic.
