(Sorry about the around thirty second long break in the middle, between side A and side B. I usually edit that out, but apparently forgot to and didn’t notice until after I had exported the video.)
This is one of my all-time favorite albums. As a child, I listened to this album over and over and over again. I recently rediscovered the cassette and found that there weren’t really any good copies of it up on YouTube (at least, no uploads of it that are the full album). So I recorded it and uploaded it myself.
It’s originally from 1975, and an animated version of it was broadcasted on TV. You can find that here:
It’s a charming little album, centered on the eponymous Rosie, a narcissistic girl who fancies herself the greatest star the world has ever seen, and who has a great love of chicken soup and rice. I’m vegetarian, but due to a recent very limiting diet change, I’ve had to adjust that a bit (so I don’t starve) and I’m, at this very moment, having some chicken soup with rice (made completely from scratch). I now get why Rosie loves it so much.
(When I was young, I called Carole King “cair-oh-lee king“, to the great amusement of my mother.)
