New York police arrest hundreds of protesters demanding Gaza ceasefire at Grand Central Station

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced on Oct. 27th that due to large-scale demonstrations calling for a ceasefire in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, New York City’s Grand Central Station was forced to close. Commuters are advised to adjust their travel plans. It is reported that hundreds of protesters, including many Jewish individuals, have been arrested. The organization behind this protest, “Jewish Voice for Peace“ stated that this may be the largest protest in New York City in nearly 20 years. The participants are mostly Jewish, but also include other groups supporting Palestine. People are demanding an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Palestine and condemning the U.S. government for funding, leading to a crisis for approximately 2.2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Just hours before the New York protest, the Israeli military announced an escalation of air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Hamas stated that they are prepared to respond with “full force“ to Israel’s offensive. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
